Asking people to take time out of their work schedule to attend your conference is a big deal. They expect to be informed, entertained and to connect with others in an inspiring venue that’s not only easy to get to, but ideally located for the commute home. The food should be memorable for all the right reasons, and the tech needs to run smoothly without any embarrassing malfunctions. In short, no-one wants to feel that they’ve wasted their precious time; the person footing the bill (usually your boss) wants to feel they’ve had value for money. If you’re going to meet this dazzling array of expectations, choosing EventCity – which has a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale conferences – just makes sense. The experienced in-house team will help you to deliver against your objectives, as well as your budget.
We’ve all felt the frustration of navigating endless city centre backstreets – searching for an obscurely-located venue with no dedicated parking, only to then face a long walk back to the car after the event is over. EventCity is the largest conference venue in the North, which is just a two-minute drive from the M60; 10 minutes from all the central train stations in Manchester; 20 minutes from Manchester International Airport; and just 90 minutes from the West Midlands… life made simpler for everyone!
How many delegates are you expecting? EventCity’s halls are sized at 2,370 sq.m., 4,117 sq.m., 5,850 sq.m. and 16,000 sq.m. respectively. Not sure which is best for your needs? You can use them separately; combine one or more halls together; or even exclusively hire the entire 28,000 sq.m. venue if you need it.
If you’re standing up in front of 3,500-plus people to deliver that crucial presentation, you want to know that the tech isn’t going to fail you. If you’re not a whizz at lighting rigging (frankly, why would you be?) and you don’t know how to wire a mic so everyone at the back can hear, then you’re going to need a team behind the scenes that do. EventCity uses the phrase ‘Alchemy Team’ to describe their audio/visual and IT specialists because they really do have the expertise and knowledge to set the scene, as well as the ability to build excitement and create the vibe and WOW factor you want!
Food and beverage
Vegetarian, vegan, gluten intolerant and dairy-free… your delegates will include people with specific dietary requirements; therefore, you need to be confident that your venue can cater creatively for everyone. EventCity’s Executive Chef Simon Mason positively relishes a challenge – having previously catered for both the Olympics and Commonwealth Games; there’s no culinary hurdle he can’t jump! Our seasonal produce, where possible, is locally sourced, so you can enjoy gourmet and fine dining experiences that contribute positively to the Northern economy.
Do your conference delegates need to stay on site overnight? There’s more than 1,000 high-quality hotel rooms within walking distance, as well as 35,000-plus in Greater Manchester. Having the glittering entertainment metropolis that is TRAFFORDCITY on your doorstep is the only excuse you need to extend your stay at EventCity!
It’s easy to fulfil your corporate social responsibility at EventCity, which is already ISO 50001 compliant and working towards achieving the ISO International Standard (20121) in the future. Working with local suppliers, forging sustainable transport links and diverting waste from landfill is how we are proud to do things around here!
